Support Engineer – Operations & Maintenance

We’re looking for a proactive, solution-oriented Support engineer - Operations & Maintenance with a strong operational mindset to champion the stability and performance of our core systems. You will play a vital role in ensuring system reliability, optimising performance, and handling the critical integrations that keep our global services running seamlessly. Mission: Ensure maximum stability, availability, and maintainability of Heymondo's backend infrastructure by proactively monitoring systems, resolving technical incidents efficiently, and delivering incremental enhancements to optimise platform performance
Key activities/responsibilities to perform:
Monitor, triage, and resolve incidents and production issues in our backend systems, ensuring minimal downtime and clear communication to stakeholders.
Maintain and support existing backend systems (Hyperion/Laravel), ensuring their reliability and performance in production.
Provide technical support to internal teams, diagnosing and resolving backend-related issues in a timely manner.
Implement small-scope backend improvements, bug fixes, and incremental features on the Hyperion platform (Laravel/PHP).
Identify, reproduce, and resolve issues reported via internal ticketing, proactively communicating root cause and resolution to the relevant stakeholders.
Be in charge of the documentation process of new developments and features.
Maintain and monitor existing integrations with third-party services, ensuring their continuity and handling operational failures as they arise.
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Web development or related field.
Debugging principles (Understanding, Isolate)
Proven experience (+3 years) in PHP development.
Expertise in Laravel framework (11) and best practices.
Knowledge of Unit Testing.
Experience with relational databases (MySQL)
Solid GIT knowledge
Practical experience with agile methodologies (Scrum/Agile)
Basic knowledge of Docker
Nice to have
Experience with Unix and Nginx
Experience in continuous integration and deployment tasks.
Experience with Laravel Forge would be great.
Experience with AWS (S3,LightSail,EC2,RDS)
Experience CI/CD pipelines
Experience with BI systems
Experience in microservices design and implementation
Experience or strong interest in AI structures (LLMs, ML models, recommendation systems, etc.) applied to backend services.

Schedule: Full-time
Flexible hours (7.5 hours a day)
100% Remote (we have a very nice office right next to Torre Agbar in Barcelona in case you want to work from there too)
